Butte County voters will have to wait to decide on a fracking measure. The Supervisors Tuesday ordered a 30 day study of the proposed initiative, meaning a public vote cannot be taken until November of 2016. The measure needed county clearance by August 8 to be on this fall's ballot. So the 30 day study means the measure cannot be voted on until the next election, which is in 2016. In the meantime, the county will continue on with its own ordinance, which bans fracking in Butte County.
