Significant progress has been made in battling the Bald Fire. Lightning is said to be the cause of the fire which started the evening of July 30th. The fire has burned over 39 thousand acres and is now 95 percent contained. According to US Forest Service, there was minimal fire behavior on Monday with moisture in the area helping in the fight against the fire. However, winds, in the area, could get up to 40 miles per hour which could cause the flames to spread.
