Fire crews continue work hard on the Lodge Lightning Complex wildfire. Lightning strikes caused the blaze which started in the area of Wilderness Lodge on July 30th. Over 12 thousand acres have been burned and it is now 60 percent contained. Evacuation Orders in the area have been downgraded to Evacuation Warnings. The Red Cross has closed the Evacuation Shelter at Legget School but they say it can be re-opened if needed. According to Cal Fire, the cooler weather and increased humidity have assisted firefighters in completing their line in the area of Eel River. Heavy smoke continues to be present throughout the Ukiah Valley.
