Fire crews continue to battle the Happy Camp Complex wildfire. A series of storms that moved through the Klamath National Forest ignited approximately 20 fires near Happy Camp on August 12th around 1 am. The blaze has burned over 7 thousand acres and is 10 percent contained. According to the US Forest Service, aggressive suppression efforts have minimized the growth of most of the small fires. The larger fires continue to grow however, due to dry fuels and steep inaccessible terrain.
