Two Butte County Highway Projects Could Continue Despite State Cuts

Over 7 hundred million dollars in cuts have been made to California road building plans. The California Transportation Commission has however recommended that a project to add passing lanes between Ophir Road and Palermo Road on Highway 70 south of Oroville be kept a part of the State Transportation Improvement Program. The replacement of a bridge over Butte Creek has also been kept alive. However, two additional passing lanes on Highway 70 have been dropped from the plan.
