Someone using welding equipment may have led to a 21 acre vegetation fire in Chico Tuesday.Fire officials announced Thursday that someone using welding equipment on a gate of one of the homes in the Oak Canyon subdivision may have sparked the blaze. The fire was reported just before 1 pm Wednesday afternoon and burned around 21 acres of grass in the Summit Terrace Ridge area. According to Cal Fire, no evacuations were ordered and no structures were damaged.
