The drill started at 7 am Wednesday. The stop lights were shut down at the intersection of Elliot Road and the Skyway and the center lane became a second lane of traffic from Elliott to Pearson Road to let more traffic move out of the town.
After the evacuation drill ended at 8 am a firefighting simulation started off of Neal Road.
Officials report the drill taught emergency responders how to move a lot of people in a short period of time and to get county and town staff all together during an emergency.
