The blaze started in the area of 16th and 20th streets and Nelson Avenue around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. The fire burned more than 25 acres. Homes in the area were threatened, but fire crews were able to contain the fire before it reached any structures. According to Cal Fire, the fire burned in a field of dead grass. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
