Butte County deputies respond to a report of an injured man west of Chico. Deputies arrived to Highway 32, just east of the Gianella Bridge at the Sacramento River after 12:30 Sunday afternoon and found an Hispanic male with a gunshot wound to his leg on the side of the roadway. The unidentified victim was taken to Enole Hospital.
According to a Butte County Sheriff's press release, circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown at this time, but they do believe that the shooting was NOT random. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact the Butte County Sheriff's Office at (530) 538-7321
