A firefighter is injured while responding to an emergency in downtown Chico. Butte Medics and Chico Fire were dispatched to an emergency call on the three hundred block of Main Street after 2:30 this morning. When medics arrived they offered aid to 45-year-old Roy Brown, but he allegedly punched the two medics. Brown then ran over to a Chico fire truck and allegedly pulled the driver from the truck. The truck was parked but in drive and rolled forward colliding with an EMS vehicle. A firefighter injured his leg in the collision. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
According to a Chico Police Department press release, Brown was arrested for various charges including carjacking.
