A Former Gridley Little League President Gave His Plea In Court

A former Gridley little league president and couch is charged with embezzlement. 43-year-old William Davis of Gridely gave a not guilty plea to the charge of embezzling over 48 thousand dollars from the Gridley Little League's general fund as well as the snack bar fund.
The case began when the newly installed treasurer discovered the league's account at the bank was overdrawn and he contacted the Griddley-Biggs Police Department. The police investigation uncovered numerous checks at varying amounts signed by Davis himself.
According to a Butte County DA's Office press release, if convicted Davis faces up to three years in prison and he will have to pay restitution. His preliminary hearing is set for September 6th.
