Chico Domestic Violence Arrest

Chico Police make an arrest in a domestic violence case. Chico Police received a call from a woman around 1:30 Monday afternoon who said she was inside a business on Rio Lindo Avenue. The woman said that she was a victim of domestic violence and that the suspect allegedly threatened her with a firearm. She then said she last saw the suspect enter a gold SUV in the parking lot of the business. Officers arrived and put the building on lockdown. They then found the SUV and detained the driver and the suspect. Officers found two handguns and arrested the suspect. According to a Chico Police Department press release, officers determined that the driver was unaware of the situation and he was released, but not before he was sited for carrying a gun illegally.
The Chico Police Department also wants the public to know that they work closely with Catalyst Domestic Violence Services. The police department reports incidents of domestic violence calls to the organization which they say offers victims a host of services including crisis intervention and emergency shelter.
The agency offers a 24-hour Hotline: 1-800-895-8476
