The LaPorte fire that started early this morning in the Bangor area in south Butte County is increasing in size. It is reported to be apart of the Cascade Fire in Yuba County. Cal Fire Butte County is reporting that the LaPorte Fire has burned 3,000 acres.

 

There are evacuation orders for all of LaPorte Road and roads off of LaPorte from Rob Mill Road south to Dunstone.

There are also evacuation orders for all of LosVerjeles Road & Oro Bangor from Yuba County line to Avocado Road.

 

and in the Yuba County area.....

There are mandatory evacuations for Hwy 20 and Loma Rica Road to Marysville Road

 

From Marysville Road, north to Willow Glen Road

 

Iowa City Road north to Yuba County line

 

The Penn Valley evacuation center has opened up at First Baptist Church on Ridge Road and the Yuba Sutter fairgrounds is also accepting evacuees.

 

 

Bangor Elementary School will be closed today.
