Chico Animal Services has some tips to keep your pets safe during the Fourth of July holiday.
* Keep your pets indoors where it is cool and keep your T-V or radio on to help mask the sound of fireworks.
* When celebrating remember to keep items such as alcoholic beverages, lighter fluid, and citronella products away from your pets as they can be harmful if ingested or inhaled.
* Make sure your pet has a collar with an ID tag or have your pet micro chipped in case they run off due to loud noises.
* And as always do NOT leave your pets in a vehicle - even for a moment - during these hot summer days.
