The field of six for the State Senate race has been narrowed to five. Nevada City Rancher Ben Emery says he was forced to withdraw because he may have a conflict of interest with challenger and Assemblyman Dan Logue. Emery reportedly says he's a board member for a homeless organization that has business with Logue so he is stepping down. If none of the five candidates gets more than 50 percent of the vote in November, a special runoff election will be held January 8th.
