Butte County Officials Eradicate Marijuana Worth Estimated $34 Million


Butte County authorities, the DEA, and Forest Service teaming up Wednesday as part of a joint marijuana investigation that eradicated more than 900 pot plants.  The marijuana had an estimated street value of 34 million dollars.   Sheriff's Sergeant Paul Leveto says the agencies were conducting federal search warrants at 10 locations in the Forest Ranch and Palermo area.  The Sheriff's Office says 140 deputies, federal agents, and other officers participated in this week's operation.
