The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for areas in Butte County impacted by the Camp Fire. That warning will be in affect from 10pm tonight through 10am Thursday. A flash flood watch indicates that flash flooding may be possible, depending on the projected rainfall rates and other factors.
Officials say if flash flooding occurs, this can quickly become a dangerous and life threatening situation. They say if you're in an impacted area or near a waterway downstream from an affected area to immediately evacuate to higher ground in the event of heavy rainfall. Officials say to call 9-1-1 if you see any evidence of soil instability or debris flow in your area.
