Butte County Stabbing Suspect Enters Plea in Court

A Butte County man accused of attacking a 65 year old neighbor with scissors has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.  The Chico ER is reporting Jesse Singhurst had already pleaded not guilty to attempted murder in the stabbing case.   A local judge appointed two doctors to evaluate Singhurst.  The defendant was facing a trial later this month but a new trial date could be set once the doctors complete their evaluation.
