Property Taxes Reassessments for Camp Fire Property Owners

The Butte County Treasurer-Tax Collector has started mailing revised tax bills to property owners impacted by the Camp Fire. The adjustments to the taxes are based on property reassessments completed by the Butte County Assessor's Office. County officials say the adjustments reflect property values from November 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.

Property owners are eligible for property tax relief if the Camp Fire caused a minimum of $10,000 in damages to taxable property. According to the Assessor's Office, once an affected property is rebuilt in a like or similar manner, the property will retain its prior value for tax purposes.
