Two Stabbing Incidents in Chico

Police are reporting two stabbing incidents in Chico in less than 24 hour period.

The first stabbing incident happened around 9 Monday night when two men suspected that a juvenile took some of their belongs on on the 27 hundred block of White Avenue. During the confrontation one of the men was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen by the juvenile. The two men fled the area and the victim transported himself to an undisclosed medical facility for treatment.

According to a Chico Police press release, officers went to a residence on White Avenue where they used a loud speaker to contact the juvenile. The suspect exited the residence and was arrested without incident. Authorities are requesting charges for assault with a deadly weapon.

 

There are also reports of a stabbing this morning in Chico. That stabbing was reported around 7 am at the 700 block of Nord Avenue near Chico State University. Police say one person was taken to the hospital. A man was reportedly found arrested on Steward Avenue. A knife was also reportedly found near a market on Nord Avenue. Police are currently investigating the incident.
