The investigation continues into the death of a man from a fight in the Berry Creek area Monday evening. Authorities have confirmed that 41 year old James Hyrne was the man who died after the altercation. Two men at a residence in the 9 thousand block of Oroville-Quincy Highway were allegedly involved in a physical altercation and both fell from an 8 to 10 foot elevated platform and down a hill. According to a Butte County Sheriff's Office press release, one man was restraining the other until deputies arrived, but the man being held down was reportedly deceased when they arrived. No arrests have been made in the case. Investigators believe alcohol was involved.
