The Chico Police Department received multiple reports of what sounded like gunshots in the area of Porter Way and Rio Lindo Avenue around 9:30 Friday night. Witnesses told officers that they saw a man fleeing the area on foot. Officers found and detained Jordan Tapp behind a closed business on Rio Lindo Avenue. Tapp, who is a convicted felon currently on parole was found with a handgun. He was arrested for possessing that handgun, possessing meth, and being in violation of parole.

According to a Chico Police press release, officers did not locate any property damage and no one was injured from the shooting.
