Police respond to a suspicious package at the Chico Library. The staff at the library reported to police that they saw a suspicious package that was left near the front entrance. No one reported seeing any one leave the package. Officers arrived and looked at the parcel, but could not determine if the package was safe. The Butte County Interagency Bomb Squad arrived and authorities closed a portion of Sherman Avenue and the Library was evacuated. According to a Chico Police press release, after the package was examined, it was determined to be innocuous and the roadway and Library were reopened.
