Storm continues


The storm continues to bring gusty strong winds and heavy rain. At 3:09 AM Sunday morning, a wind gust of 44mph was recorded at the KPAY Weather Center. This was accompanied by heavy rainfall.  Currently there are several weather advisories in effect:

 

The storm should abate by mid day. Here's the forecast for Butte County valley floor:

  • Today Showers. High near 59. Windy, with a south wind 25 to 30 mph decreasing to 14 to 19 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
  • Tonight Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. Southeast wind around 7 mph.
  • Monday Mostly sunny, with a high near 59. Light and variable wind.
  • Monday Night A 30 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. East southeast wind around 7 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  • Tuesday Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 56. South southeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
