River Flood Warning, possible thunderstorms


The end edge of the current frontal system has passed and skies are clearing, but sunshine may produce convection thunderstorms this afternoon. A River Flood Warning has been issued by NWS. Areas that have traditionally been the first to flood in the past will do so again.

* FLOOD WARNING FOR URBAN AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS IN...
SHASTA COUNTY ... TEHAMA COUNTY... GLENN COUNTY... LAKE COUNTY... BUTTE COUNTY... WESTERN PLUMAS COUNTY... COLUSA COUNTY... SUTTER COUNTY... YUBA COUNTY... WESTERN SIERRA COUNTY... WESTERN NEVADA COUNTY... PLACER COUNTY... YOLO COUNTY...

* UNTIL 1000 AM PST MONDAY

* ABUNDANT RAINFALL FROM THE LAST SEVERAL STORMS HAS SATURATED SOILS AND CAUSED EXCESSIVE RUNOFF INTO WATERWAYS. SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE AFTERNOON BUT MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO END BY TONIGHT. HOWEVER ADDITIONAL FLOODING IS POSSIBLE IN THE VICINITY OF CREEKS...STREAMS...AND RIVERS AS WATER LEVELS WILL CONTINUE TO RISE INTO MONDAY.
