Utility crews are working to restore power in Butte County and other parts of the North Valley following the latest round of heavy wind and rain to hit the area. PG and E spokesman JD Guidi tells KPAY about 3700 customers are in the dark...about 1500 of those are in Butte County. He adds the utility called in help from crews in other cities to help with repairs. Guidi says he expects most of the customers to have their power restored today.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Residents of Northern California endured the brunt of another powerful storm that drenched the area with yet another round of pounding rain and strong winds, but officials say damage from the storm was less than expected.
The latest storm system - the third to hit the area in less than a week - moved across the region late Saturday and early Sunday. Officials say it dropped as much as an inch of rain per hour in some areas, toppling trees and knocking down power lines.
Rivers across Northern California swelled from the deluge, but didn't flood as extensively as had been expected.
