Suspicious Suitcase Prompts Chico Evacuation; Police Wait for Bomb Squad

    Chico Police investigating a suspicious suitcase this
morning that prompted several evacuations.  Officials say
they're waiting for the local bomb squad to arrive to investigate
the package left outside the social security administration building
around E. Lassen Avenue and Ridgewood.



    Chico Police Sergeant Rob Merrifield says the building and
nearby businesses were evacuated.  Officers have also shut down the
streets surrounding that social security office.
