Chico City Council Votes in Favor of Plastic Bag Ban

    Chico's ban on plastic bags moves forward. The City Council voted Wednesday to move forward with banning large retailers from using the single use bags and charge 10-cents for paper bags. The E-R reports it won't be implemented for a year as the city monitors litigation against bans in other areas. Restaurants, nonprofits and social organizations would be exempt as well as  customers on government assistance.
