Chico City Manager Proposes Staff Restructuring

Chico's city manager says re-structuring city government will cut city expenses.  City Manager Brian Nakamura presented a proposal to the City Council Tuesday that called for scaling back the number of city department heads from 12 to five.   The Chico ER reports those five department heads would be police, fire, public works, community development, and administrative services.  Nakamura told the council the change would lead to a reduction in staff and cost savings.
