Butte County is gearing up for more jail space. The jail has more inmates because of the state's Realignment Program where counties oversee low level offenders. Butte County Administrator Paul Hahn says the county could need a new jail, and the State will help pay for building it.
Hahn says county leaders are looking at all options, including a new jail, an expansion, or a remodeling. He says the county is also looking at continuing to house inmates in surrounding counties.
