Butte County is set to have new rules on the cultivation of Medical Marijuana. The Board of Supervisors Tuesday is expected to make minor revisions to the measure, and if given full approval, the ordinance goes into effect in 30 days. The ordinance is complaint driven, and those complaining must be impacted by the grows. It also states that growers must be residents of Butte County for at least a year.
Meanwhile, Butte County officials will get their first review Tuesday of a new noise ordinance. The county law is required by the General Plan. Development Services Director Tim Snellings says the ordinance spells out the noise threshold limit on a person's property line. It also gives county staff more authority to enforce noise violations. Supervisors are expected to look over the draft ordinance and bring it back for adoption at the Board's next meeting.
