Federal Student Loans will NOT be available to several hundred Yuba College students this fall. The Board of Trustees voted to suspend the program for a year after learning some borrowers had high default rates. They made the move to avoid a complete cutoff so students could at least receive Pell Grants to help fund their education. The federal loans are often considered the most advantageous borrowing option for students. The Yuba Community College District serves 15 thousand students at Yuba College in Marysville and Woodland.
