A former Chico State University football player has been identified as the victim of fatal stabbing in Rocklin. 19-year-old Zachary Kachmar is accused of stabbing 51-year-old Robert Vickney at Vickney’s Rocklin home. Kachmar was at a party and was friends with Vickney’s son. Police believe an altercation ensued that ended with Kachmar stabbing Vickney. Murder charges have been dropped for the time being, and police now say it may be self defense. Vickney was well-known Chico State linebacker in the 80s and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009. He had planned a reunion for his teammates this week.
