A man gets life behind bars for a killing that brought Long Beach detectives to Chico. 31-year-old Marcel Mackabee was convicted Friday in Long Beach for killing 29-year-old Phillip Williamson in 2011. Williamson, who grew up in Chico, reportedly transferred large quantities of marijuana from Northern California and sold it to dispensaries. He was shot in the head and dumped in an alley where he died. Mackabee's cousin Charles, and Kenneth Johnson are awaiting trial in the killing. Both also face life in prison if convicted.
