Prosecutors Read from Diary of CA Murder Suspect During Trial

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (AP) — A California prosecutor in the trial of a former photographer charged with the decades-old killings of four women says his diary shows how he would stalk and approach victims.  Two of the victims were found in Yuba County. The Marin Independent Journal reported that Marin County prosecutor Rosemary Slote read from the diary of Joseph Naso during closing arguments that began Wednesday. She says the entries date back to the 1950s and give descriptions of rape and sexual assault. Prosecutors have called some 70 witnesses during the two-month trial as they sought to prove that Naso drugged and photographed victims before strangling them. The 79-year-old Naso is acting as his own attorney and is scheduled to give his closing argument on Friday.
