More than 10 thousand acres have been scorched in Tehama County, as the Deer Fire continues to burn in rugged terrain and threaten powerlines. At last report, Cal-Fire says the blaze is 35 percent contained. Officials say the effort to control the fire is being hampered by limited access for ground resources. More than 300 fire personnel were flown into parts of the fire to cut containment lines. That blaze is burning near Deer Creek east of Los Molinos.
