A woman was arrested Monday for grand theft and burglary at the Chico Target on E. 20th Street, the Chico Police Department said. Officers said they responded to Target after receiving a call from employees that a theft had just occurred. Police said Target's Loss Prevention observed Maria Ponce-Romero, 50, of Oroville, loading a cart with merchandise, pushing it out of the store, and loading it into a vehicle. Ponce-Romero was arrested for grand theft and burglary.
