Chico Gets $43 Mill in Camp Fire Funding
The Chico City Council agreed to accept a $43 million dollar settlement in Camp Fire money from the Camp Fire Settlement Trust Tuesday. The money is compensation for the City of Chico including damage to city roads due to a dramatic increase in traffic post-Camp Fire.
The City of Chico will receive approximately 60% of the funding in the coming weeks, and the remaining 40% will be distributed in future trust distributions. Chico Mayor Andrew Coolidge says much of the money will likely go towards road repairs in the city.
