PGE Highest Rates in State
The state's largest utility is now the most expensive. That's because of PG&E's latest rate hike. The company started charging 13-percent more for power on Monday. Customers will see that on their next bill, averaging an extra 33-bucks a month. But come March, it could be even higher if a seven-percent increase is approved. PG&E says the money is needed to bury power lines and other efforts to reduce wildfire risks.
