Butte County Supervisors voted for the old Sheriff sub station bldg at 479 East Park Ave. in Chico to be demolished. It will cost about $400,000 to tear it down. This building has existed since the 1970s. Behind the building, stands vaults and a tower that help support radio, phone, and data communications for the city and the county. The supervisors approved 150k to improve security at the site. There is no timetable to demolish the substation.
