Former correctional deputy Andrew Gertz plead no contest to felony DUI charges for a crash involving multiple cars on Mangrove Avenue in Chico last year, according to Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey. Ramsey says Gertz appeared in court on Wednesday for his plea where he also admitted a sentence enhancement for injuring more than one victim, as well as an enhancement for inflicting great bodily damage to one of the victims. Gertz returns to court against on May 15 for sentencing. If sentenced, Ramsey says Gertz faces a maximum sentence of eight years in state prison
