RED BLUFF, Calif. (AP) — Federal investigators are re-examining bus safety rules in the wake of the fiery crash that killed 10 in California [I-5 near Orland]. National Transportation Safety Board member Mark Rosekind said Sunday that his agency is revisiting proposals to enhance fire and passenger safety in light of the tragedy. A FedEx truck Thursday careened across an Interstate 5 median and slammed into a bus carrying high school students headed to a college tour. Dozens escaped before a massive explosion. Investigators say evidence shows the truck driver didn't apply brakes and that the truck wasn't on fire before the crash as a witness claimed.
