GIANTS SEASON RIDES ON BARRY ZITO AS SAN FRANCISCO FACES A 3-1 DEFICIT IN NLCS
Must-win is an over-used term but for the San Francisco Giants they have reached that point.
The Giants are down 3-to-1 in their best-of-seven NLCS series against the Cardinals after last night's
8-3 loss. San Francisco now turns to Barry Zito, much maligned for years by Giants fans for his over-inflated
contract and his lack of production. The Giants season now rides on Zito.
The Giants have won 12 straight Zito starts, but his most recent appearance was a sketchy 2.2 inning struggle
against the Cincinnati Reds in the divisional series. The Giants know if they can somehow find a way to win tonight they will have their two best pitchers throwing Games 6 & 7 at AT & T Park.
