Move over Babe, now there is something meatier.

In a performance that will be remembered for as long as the great game of baseball is played, Pablo Sandoval hit three home runs in his first three at-bats of this 2012 World Series leading the Giants to an 8-3 win in Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night.

LISTEN TO HOW GIANTS BROADCASTERS JON MILLER AND DUANE KUIPER CALLED PABLO SANDOVAL'S HISTORIC NIGHT AT THE PLATE IN GAME 1 OF THE 2012 WORLD SERIES.........

Sandoval's first two home runs came against Tigers ace Justin Verlander who clearly was out of sync. He gave up 5 runs in 4 innings and threw 99 pitches in his four innings of work. On the other hand, Barry Zito mixed and match beautifully, scattering six hits over 5.2 innings and surrendering only one run.

The Giants turn to Madison Bumgarner hoping he has ironed out his mechanical issues looking to take a 2-0 lead in the Fall Classic. The Tigers turn to Doug Fister who has pitched well for them in this 2012 post-season. Game time is 5:07pm and you can hear the game on our sister station 101.7 FM and AM 1340 with our pre-game at 4:30
