A truck struck by a train this morning was allegedly a getaway vehicle for a suspected Chico burglar. The collision happened at McIntosh and Diamond Avenue around 2 am this morning after the truck had gotten stuck on the tracks. Authorities say the pickup was filled with tools and two portable generators that had allegedly been stolen from a nearby Union Pacific yard. The suspect reportedly fled the area. According to the CHP, the train was stopped for about 2 hours.
