Duarte Gonsalves was declared mentally competent on Wednesday to stand trial for the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Paul Bryant. The shooting took place back in July on Lincoln Boulevard. Gonsalves has plead not guilty to one count of murder, one count of a felon in possession of a firearm, and one count of being in possession of a short barreled shotgun. According to the DA's Office, due to the work load of the defendant's attorney the trial will not start until September.
