65-year-old Richard Wilson was sentenced Thursday to 12 years and eight months in state prison.
In January of 2015 Wilson had been driving his vehicle westbound in the eastbound lanes on the Skyway near Paradise when he collided head-on with another vehicle. A woman from Chico was killed and a man from Paradise was severely injured in the collision.
According to the Butte County DA's Office, Wilson had been convicted of DUI seven times prior to the incident and had been driving on a suspended license at the time of the collision.
