Deputies attempted to stop the driver of a Ford Explorer in the area of Glen Drive and Foothill Boulvard around 2:30 Saturday morning. The driver however, allegedly failed to yield leading deputies on a nearly 30 minute pursuit with speeds at times reaching 80 miles an hour. During the chase a passenger identified as 31-year-old Christopher Ballez reportedly jumped out of the car and took off on foot, but he was quickly caputred by deputies. Spike strips were deployed on Lower Honcut Road east of Highway 70 stopping the vehicle. The driver, 42-year-old Timothy Fryar was arrested.
