The Trailhead Fire started along the Middle Fork of the American River near Todd Valley Tuesday afternoon. The fire has burned 2,151 acres and is 12% contained. 2,600 structures are threatened. On Thursday evacuations in Volcanoville, in El Dorado County, were upgraded from voluntary to mandatory. Mandatory evacuations are still in effect in areas affected in Placer County.
According to Cal Fire, the blaze became more active Thursday, but crews made great progress on the Placer side of the fire.
