A former Gridley American Legion officer charged with embezzlement makes his first court appearance. 45-year-old William White the 3rd, pled not guilty to grand theft embezzlement on Thursday. White is charged with using funds from the American Legion's checking and savings accounts to cover personal expenses between 2014 and 2016. According to the Butte County D-A's Office, during that time White allegedly took over 19 thousand dollars. White's next hearing will be on September the 15th.
